Richard Few Sr. will was proven Jan.26, 1689 and mentions his granddaughter, Susanna, daughter of Richard Jr."

Richard went to America on one of William Penn's ships in 1681 or 1682.

Legatees were: Isaac Few, 200 acres on Brandywine and 10 acres in Philadelphia

wife, Julian - life interest to one half of the value of the estate. Also

provided were legacies to sons, Walter and Daniel and daughter Jane and

granddaughter Susanna Few, all in England. One pound was given to

"Friends of the Chester County Meeting.

In 1681 Richard purchased 500 acres from William Penn's administration, to be laid out in Pennsylvania. As a first purchaser, he received a bonus lot of 10 acres in the Schuykil district of Philadelphia. Richard, son Isaac, wife Julian and servant Margaret Smith arrived in Philadelphia prior to 12 Sep 1682, for Richard served as juror in Upland County court on that date. This precedes the arrival of William Penn by at least one month (29 Oct 1682).

Note on Wife: Jane (Joan) WHITFIELD

Records show birth as 1627, 1629 and 1631 at either Market Lavington or Wedhampton, and marraige as 1650. All records show her as being married to Richard Few. Some records show her getting married in Garston, Lancashire but this is unlikely as she was born and died in Wiltshire.
