In 1861 she was living in Bulkington with her husband and daughters Mary, Sarah and Ann. She is 38 years old and described as a Housekeeper.

In 1871 she was living in Bulkington with her husband and daughters Mary and Ann. She is 48 years old and assigned no occupation. The North Wiltshire Online Census Project lists James Harrell's wife as being Emma and living with them was daughter Jane age 20 and unmarried and granddaughter Sarah of 6 months.

In 1881 she is not included as living with her husband.

In 1891 she was living next to Manor Farm, Bulkington, Wiltshire with her husband. She was 68 years old.
