In 1861 he was living at the Green, Urchfont, Wiltshire with his parents, 2 sisters and a brother. He was 5 years old and a Scholar.

In 1871 he was living at The Green, Urchfont, Wiltshire with his mother, a widow, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He was 15 years old and an Agricultural Labourer. His niece was also living with them who was 8 months old from London.

At the 1871 census he was an Agricultural Labourer in Urchfont.

Between 1881 and 1901 he was a Brewery Cellarman. William and Ellen were living at Monument Cottage, Stert, Wiltshire.

At the 1891 census they were living at 3 Station Road, Devizes.

By the 1901 census they were living at 2 Station Road, Devizes.

None of the census returns show Ellen living with her parents and brothers.

In 1871 she was living at Nurstead, Wilshire where she was living with her uncle Emmanuel Hall, a 47 year old widower from Salisbury and Steven Bambridge, her cousin, who was 27 years old, unmarried, and a Farm Servant. Ellen was 15 years old and a General Servant.

In 1861 she was living at Ryde Farm, Potterne, Wiltshire with her husband and son Alfred. She was 38 years old and gives her birth place is Imber, Wiltshire and calls herself Elizabeth.

In 1871 she was living in Worton, Wiltshire with her husband and sons Alfred, George and Frank. She was 48 years old.

3 Agnes Sarah ROSE (1883-1968) [2764]. Born 9 Jun 1883, Chinehill, Puddletown, Dorset. Died 1968, Alton Hospital, Hampshire.

Agnes appears in the 1891 as living at Woolmer, Bramshott, Hampshire.
